In this case it is the natural asset of Rockingham Beach in WA. Recently awarded for its beauty and value to the public the plan for destruction have been brewing for a while but now it is for certain because council is determined to give boaties a safe heaven for their boats and "revitalize" the foreshore with commercial venues under the pretence of adding value to it and create income to the benefit of all. The Lord Mayor recently expressing his opinion in a meeting with a small interest group that wants to have a say in the proposed development. Unfortunately, I was appalled in what he had to say and sadly only two or three others were too. What he said, summarized in short that there was a need for a marina (with 400 berths smack bang in the middle of the bay) to give boat owners a safe haven for their boats to prevent seasonal storm damage to their precious possession.
The parking spaces, originally a stumbling block for the marina plan have now been solved with the developer paying for at least the immidiate requirement in lieu with council who is keen to work together with him as the project was essential for the future of Rockingham City, bringing a lot of tourism and further development, all in the interest of the public.
It will all be done as swiftly as possible, deferring responsibility for the impact on traffic including parking concerns in the future, raised by one listener, literally stating that it was important to solve the current problems and the ones in future arising would be, well, the concern of others, (in the future).
So the conclusion, according to his "majesty" is:
Let us sell natural beauty now and help the developer to go ahead before anyone realizes what blunder they make for short term monetary and prestigious gain in the interest of a few. It does not matter that the beauty will not exist after the development and that the public will have a lot of shops and commerce instead, and parking and traffic issues to solve, which will then not be his or current council's responsibilities (obviously none of them will be in their position) and thus nobody will pay for the mistakes made, except the public, not only by losing a perfect environment for their recreation and well-being as well as tourists who come for a unique environment not shops and traffic jams without viable parking. But the boaties have a safe harbor for their vessels and they can escape the crowds on the confined left over beach areas by going out to the open sea. That's the privilege of having money, probably made by the destruction they caused in the first place.
Another disgusting news was that the developer already intends to sell the project to someone else and as the trend is, it will be sold to a Chinese bidder, keen to get as much of Australian soil as possible. Nobody can tell me that this not a concern!
But and now I come to the saddest part of it, the majority of the people in the meeting were all for the marina and development. Well, as depressing as this observation is, this public deserves the irresponsible council and the death of their bay. May they choke on it as the beautiful creatures will that currently inhabit the bay. For them my heart bleeds and I wished I could prevent it to happen but the "intelligent human race" has no love and foresight and thus cannot be helped. Our beautiful planet suffers from cancer.. Globalisation is just another name for its dissemination and no matter what, it is too far spread to actually hold it, not even by radical intervention (like surgery). Nature is needed to eradicate it.

Interesting! Public health is not the responsibility of the local council health department? No, it is not their duty to warn the public of possible water contamination after the recent fish kill at Rockingham Beach. It is the responsibility of the fishery department to investigate the causes and then when results are available to advise whom ever, apparently the state health department, to inform the public. Never mind that anyone visiting the beach for a swim, with many children frequenting this particular area as it is a family type of beach that all the time between the adverse event and obtaining results, nobody bothers to take care of the unsuspecting citizens who are left with the believe that the water is still safe to swim in. I find it outrageous that for a start the fish are dead due to some contamination for which nobody will ever be blamed as past occurrences show, and even worse that no department takes the responsibility to at least warn the public of a possible hazard warranting specific testing to ensure the water is safe to swim in. It is not good enough to state testing has been done which actually does not look for contaminants just performing usual microbiological testing routines which would not be the cause for a fish kill to start with. What kind of council officials and other bureaucrats can claim to do their jobs in the interest of the public when none of them even consider action where action is needed. Disgusting public services and incompetent staff, both need to be dismantled and replaced with people who have at least some kind of decency to facilitate action when it is needed instead of shrugging shoulders and saying it is not their responsibility!

While in hospital for my intervention, I had plenty of time to reflect on what makes the choice how you want to earn money for your living successful. Well, it is always preferable that you feel a calling to the work you want to do, other than being motivated purely by convenience, income or plainly just not knowing what to do, but it is of particular importance when you choose to get into health care as you will be dealing with vulnerable people, depending on you, your skills, your empathy and your commitment. Sadly the majority do a job, not something they are happy to do, or are particularly proud of, reflected in how they fulfil their duties, with some doing better than others, some not good enough at all. There is no emphasis in training either, to do more than just their job, and certainly no help from policy makers or politician for that matter. In fact they put more pressure on staff by cost cutting, burning them out rather than supporting them. Now, of course, you can do good work without a vocational calling, but it will not be to your overall satisfaction nor to the benefit of the patient and sure not bring the savings in healthcare, that services aim for. It is well known that recovery of patients depend on quality care, which includes that is staff is listening, taking serious what they say, instead of glossing over as a response with superficial promises or even belittling and patronizing them. Well, if you are in a job, care giving ends for you by doing your duties, if you are in for the right reasons, it will be no drama for you to do just a bit more. It does not cost you extra time to listen, and your caring nature will shine through you naturally. It is to your and everyone else's benefit, even the executives in their high towers as the outcomes will be better than they are under the uncaring health system. It does not mean all have to be vocational health care providers, any skill can be learned, but it requires specific training and better planning than it is done at the present. It looks as if you should be a healthy patient, because if you are sick that is just too much work and too costly. My apology to any good health care worker, but sadly, there are not enough of them around.

.....to my body. Receiving scary health news at the end of the year was not expected but there it is and I have to deal with it. I am grateful but that my body has served me so well over all this years of my life. Obviously it is in the forefront of all problems that can plague me, or anyone for that matter. It has to bear all the misuse we do to ourselves, be it physically, mentally or at the core of our being, spiritually. I have to figure out now, how I can help my body to heal and I will do that with all my heart and abilities, because my body deserves all love and care for what it has to put up with. I know I treated it carelessly and I know, there are issues lurking in my mind unresolved, just don't know yet, which have been so entrenched and neglected that my body had to take over trying to resolve them. I am grateful to all cells, molecules, atoms and particles I am made of but the sick ones need to go and they will, because the body has the incredible ability to regenerate and replace the old with the new and the sick with the healthy, I only have to encourage it and support it and hopefully I will be by eradicating the cause. I just have to find it first, pinpoint it and work out the solution. This is the least my body deserves and the best I can do for myself. So! 2019, you will be the year of soul searching for me and celebrating you my body for your faithful service.

Since climate change cannot be longer denied by the self invested psychopaths of this world, there is something far worse that gets ignored by the same crowd and that is the emission rate which actually is the real threat. It will cause the extinction of human kind and the world as we know it. But blame it on the cows, as some seriously do and always deny that the man made industry is the cause, because it suits the psychopaths of our societies. They sit in decision making positions as good as their associates dance around the money wheel. Climate change is a consequence propelled by the emissions, but does the psychopath care? Of course not! That characterises the psychopath, he gives a dam about anything but his own interest. So now, he cannot deny that the climate is changing, but have you seen any real and absolute necessary actions to curb emissions? The opposite is happening and if anyone believes that intelligence will prevent the looming disaster, think again. It is human intelligence that got us to the point where we are. The only chance of salvation is love, compassion for life and care for everything. Intelligence needs to be coupled with love. Without it, nature will have to take its course and I relish the fact that no psychopath can wield her power, as much as he has tried.

Though every time I am confronted with the reality of how the cruel, evil, intelligent but still ignorant humans treat life, I fell hopeless that this face of the coin could ever turn around to the other side of the coin, that is care, compassion and sensible progress of mankind that gives all life a chance to succeed into a prosperous future. I then have to call myself to order and remember that even as a drop into the ocean that I am, my voice counts, because I am not alone. All the drops that make up the ocean are my soulmates, they are the likeminded, we are the ocean and every single drop counts, because without them, including me, there would be no ocean. May be the criminals succeed to dry up the oceans of this world, but I cannot stop caring that there may be a way to turn things around and put evil back into the place where it belongs (to one side of the coin, not both of it).

But how come that nobody believes that the politicians do their job as expected? The answer is simple, but not because the politician is the stupid bourgeois but the stupid bourgeois elects the stupid bourgeois from its own stock. Where is the citizen, the true democrat? They are the minority, because they do not hesitate to take responsibility or pride in the work they do or care for the wellbeing of their society, environment, including animals and resources so the children have a future. Only the stupid bourgeois hands over decision-making to others, because it is so much easier to whinge about the politician than to take responsibility. He is too lazy, too unwilling, he is rather a servant and a victim than interested and actively vested in protecting democracy against the stupid bourgeois. Democracy is only as good as the public itself.

If anyone thinks only humans experience that, then the dog I watched on the beach today can teach the disbeliever otherwise. Here he was, a 'bitsa' of a dog, midsize with brindle short hair, all by himself, jumping the waves whipped up by the wind and swimming out into the choppy waters as if he wished to cross the ocean. I nearly got concerned thinking, where is he going, but he came back in good time and then off he went again, obviously loving a bit of a challenge as he had to face some really unruly gushes of water coming up against him. I could not get enough of watching him. He made me laugh and also admire him. What a dog! His attitude totally contagious. His owner or family he belonged to nowhere to be seen, but most likely being behind the dunes on the grassy parkland having their own fun other than getting wet at that. Sure, it was a bit of a cloudy day, but who cares, when you love the water. I and the dog obviously had the same opinion, and shame on you, if you think, animals have no feelings and no intelligence!.
